About TEIMUN
The TEIMUN foundation is a recognized foundation. Its dual objectives are to raise international understanding and to bring students in contact with the workings of multi-lateral diplomacy in general and the United Nations in particular. To realize these objects we organize The European International Model United Nations every year.
The European International Model United Nations (TEIMUN), is an annual United Nations simulation for university students across the globe. This year it will be held from the 15th till the 21st of July 2008 in The Hague, The Netherlands. TEIMUN gives students the opportunity to experience the working and decision-making process of the United Nations and NATO through role-playing in one of the organs simulated, helping participants to gain a multicultural view of world affairs and to develop public speaking and debating skills.
The councils which will be simulated this year are the General Assembly (GA), The Security Council (SC), the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Human Rights Council (HRC), the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the North Atlantic Council (NAC). The diversity of topics which will be discussed in these councils makes TEIMUN interesting not just for students of international relations, but also for students studying law, management, and business study's and all other affiliated disciplines.
