Opening Ceremony

We are pleased to announce that the opening ceremony for TEIMUN 2008 will take place in Theater Diligentia:

Theater Diligentia, situated at the beautiful Lange Voorhout, is one of the oldest theaters in The Netherlands. The construction of the present front side of the building was started in 1645. The main hall dates back to the 16th century.
In 1805 the heirs of the Baroness Johanna Maria from Tuyll Serooskerken handed over the deeds to the theater to the Hague Society for Philosophy which had ‘Diligentia’, meaning with diligence, as its motto. From 1821 the Society started lending the hall to theatrical groups for the performance of plays and operas. Nowadays, the Diligentia is mainly used as a theater.
